We have also introduced new approaches to taking care of the dedicated employees of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. Our internal peer-to-peer support program, the Sheriff’s Trauma Assistance Response (STAR) Team, helps provide our members with much need assistance and support as a result of the stressors that come with being an emergency first responder. Our partnership with Emerald Medical provides our staff with medical and mental health care by licensed professionals when needed. Finally, our Operation Be More Fit initiative encourages and supports our staff in an overall approach to mental and physical well-being.
